1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember things about your visit (like that you are signed in) and help us understand how the site is used. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. The Short Version
- We use cookies for two reasons: to make the site work and to measure aggregate usage.
- We do not use third-party advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site tracking.
- You can clear cookies in your browser at any time.
- We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of any non-essential tracking.
3. Cookies We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary
These are required for the site and dashboard to function. They cannot be disabled.
pqv_session— signs you in to the customer dashboard. Expires when you log out or after 7 days of inactivity.__Host-csrf— protects forms from cross-site request forgery. Expires at end of browser session.cookie_choice— remembers your cookie banner choice so we do not ask again. Expires after 12 months.
3.2 Performance & analytics
These help us understand which pages perform well and where users get stuck. Aggregated and anonymized; no individual identifier.
- Vercel Analytics — first-party, cookieless page-view counts. No personal data is sent.
3.3 Functional
- Local storage entries used by the Free Audit tool to cache your last scan locally so you can revisit results without re-scanning. Cleared when you close the tab.
3.4 We do not use
- Third-party advertising or retargeting cookies.
- Cross-site behavioral tracking pixels.
- Social media share-button trackers.
4. Managing Your Preferences
You can clear and block cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break sign-in and form submission.
5. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal data, and we disable any non-essential analytics. You do not need to do anything else.
6. Changes
We will update this policy when our cookie usage changes. The effective date at the top will be updated. Material changes will be announced on the site.
